Building financial confidence through practical budget education — we believe everyone deserves clear, actionable guidance for their money management journey.

We're Building Financial Confidence, One Budget at a Time

Started in 2019 when we realized too many smart people were struggling with money basics. Now we're helping thousands across Malaysia understand their finances without the jargon or judgment.

Why We Do This Work

Back in 2018, I was having coffee with a colleague who earned twice my salary but couldn't explain where his money went each month. That conversation sparked something important.

We discovered that financial education in Malaysia focused on investment strategies and wealth building, but skipped the foundation completely. People needed to understand their spending patterns before they could think about growing wealth.

Site-Save emerged from this gap. We focus on practical budgeting skills that actually work in daily life, using examples from Malaysian families and real local scenarios.

How We Think About Money Education

01

Start With Real Numbers

We use actual Malaysian household expenses and income ranges. No theoretical examples about spending RM50,000 on groceries or unrealistic lifestyle assumptions that don't match local reality.

02

Address Cultural Context

Family obligations, festival expenses, and multi-generational financial responsibilities shape how money works here. Our guidance accounts for these realities instead of importing foreign frameworks.

03

Build Sustainable Habits

Quick fixes don't work with money management. We focus on developing systems that become automatic over time, reducing the mental energy required to make good financial decisions consistently.

The People Behind Site-Save

We're a small team with backgrounds in finance, education, and behavioral psychology. What connects us is the belief that financial stress shouldn't be a given in people's lives.

Roderick Thorne

Founder & Financial Education Specialist

Started in banking before moving to financial education in 2017. Roderick noticed that most financial advice assumed people already understood budgeting basics, leaving a huge gap for practical guidance.

He's spent the last six years developing educational approaches that work for busy professionals, young families, and anyone who finds traditional financial advice overwhelming or irrelevant to their situation.

When he's not working on curriculum development, Roderick volunteers with community financial literacy programs and tests new educational methods with local groups.

Our Evolution Since 2019

Each year has taught us something important about how people actually learn to manage money effectively.

2019 - Foundation Year

Launched with basic budgeting workshops for 50 people. Learned that most participants needed help with expense tracking before they could create meaningful budgets.

2021 - Digital Transition

Moved online during the pandemic and discovered our content reached people in smaller towns who had limited access to financial education. This expanded our perspective significantly.

2023 - Methodology Refinement

Developed our current approach after working with over 1,200 individuals. We realized that sustainable financial habits require understanding personal spending triggers, not just mathematical formulas.

2025 - Expanded Impact

Now serving families across Malaysia through structured programs that address real-world financial challenges with practical, tested strategies that participants can implement immediately.
